Pack Your Bags for Day Camp

What Girls Should Wear:

Campers’ clothes should not have any inappropriate words or depictions.

Shorts, Skirts, and Dresses

  • Shorts should be at least fingertip length or have a 4-inch inseam
  • Wearing skirts and dresses should be extremely limited based on the active nature of camp.
  • Skirts and dresses should be at least near knee-length.
  • Tights and spandex do not change the above rules.
  • If wearing leggings, shirts should cover the butt.

Shirts

  • Shirts should be chosen with the active nature of camp in mind.
  • A camper’s stomach or lower back should never be visible.
  • Undergarments should never be visible.
  • Campers should not wear anything strapless.
  • Clothing is too tight when the outline of undergarments can be clearly seen.
  • Necklines should be modest.

Swimsuits

  • If wearing a two-piece swimsuit, the top and bottom should overlap so that neither the stomach nor lower back are visible.
  • Necklines should be modest.

What Boys Should Wear:

Campers’ clothes should not have any inappropriate words or depictions.

  • Shorts should be at least fingertip length.
  • Shorts and pants should not sag, and undergarments should not be visible.
  • Guys should be wearing shirts unless in their cabin, restroom, or swimming.
  • Swimsuits should be fingertip length.
  • Guys should not wear hats during prayer or flag raising.

What to Bring:

Campers are encouraged to bring a backpack with the following items.  These items are intended to be left at camp overnight rather than be brought home every day:

  • 2 Towels
  • Bathing Suit (for girls: no mid-drift showing)
  • Water Shoes recommended for pool and lake activities
  • Sandals or flip flops for swim time
  • Floaties (if your child has difficulty swimming)

Additionally, campers should bring the following items:

  • Rain Jacket on rainy days
  • Medications in their original containers (if any)
  • Date of last tetanus shot (for reporting at check-in)

What Not to Bring:

In order to maintain the intended atmosphere at New Life Camp, please pay attention to the following rules.

  • Tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs
  • Books or magazines with questionable material
  • Car keys
  • Pets
  • Electronic devices for entertainment
  • Blades, guns, and other weapons
  • Music devices
  • Phones
  • We recommend campers leave anything of value not covered here at home. While New Life Camp keeps a lost and found storage, we are ultimately not responsible for lost or stolen property.
