Biographies

  • Priscilla Arthur
    • Teaches: First Aid & Safety Club, World Empires, Missions, and Wars
    • Contact
    • Priscilla Arthur is new to the area and the Army has taken her family around the world. She earned a B.S. at Virginia Tech in Marketing Management with a minor in Communications & Int. Business focus. Soon after graduating she went into full time ministry and has been teaching Bible discipleship classes, leading mission trips, prayer groups, retreats, coaching sports, and teaching history & math courses. She is currently working on a Masters in Christian Studies. As a former Girl Scout, life guard, and military spouse, she has taken first aid courses, safety-readiness training, and has led Family Readiness Groups.

    • Pamela graduated with a degree in Radiologic Technology. Though she began working in the medical field, she has always been an artist at heart, whether her palette is plate, canvas, wood, or cloth. Last year, the Lord allowed her to share her love of culinary design in a cake decorating class for middle school girls. Pamela and her family, husband David and three home-schooled children Tristan, Mariah (both graduated), and Eden have enjoyed New Life Camp’s ministry for fifteen years.
  • Chuck Bounds

    • Christian camping played an important role in Chuck’s early years as a camper and counselor at Camp Victory in Alabama. Chuck is the Director of Facilities at NLC. He has a background in construction work in the areas of carpentry, cabinet making/woodworking, painting, plumbing, and electrician work. He has certifications in carpentry, cabinet making, and electrical from Reid Technical College in Evergreen, Alabama, a BA degree in Theology from the Baptist College of Florida, and an M.Div. w/ Christian Education Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Hobbies and areas of interest: Woodworking, Art, Fishing, Motorcycles.
  • John Choquette

    • John is the author of Burlwood Forest, and the owner of Pumpernickel Art, a lifestyle design and publishing company founded in 2015. His work has appeared in numerous online and print publications, and he is currently a writer for the Christian music site, Jesusfreakhideout.com. He received a B.A. in journalism from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and lives in the Triangle area with his amazing wife. He attended New Life Camp from 1997-2005 as a camper, day camp counselor and CIT.
  • Jamie Hollen

    • Jamie graduated from NC State with a BA in International Studies and then with a Masters in teaching English as a second language. She has studied Arabic, Spanish, and French and enjoys learning and teaching new languages. She has worked for Wake County Public Schools for the past 3 years and is currently enjoying a new phase of life as a stay at home mom and enjoying time with her husband, Andy, and son, Penn. She grew up attending New Life Camp for many years and is very excited to be back!
  • Marny Kostenberger

    • Marny earned her BScN in Nursing from McMaster University in Canada and served in Quito, Ecuador on a short term mission at Hospital Vozandes. She earned a Masters Degree in Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University and then earned a Theological Doctorate from the University of South Africa. She occasionally teaches courses at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with her husband, Dr. Andreas Kostenberger. They have homeschooled their four children for over 18 years. Marny enjoys helping children learn about God and his world through fun activities and clubs. Her children have participated in New Life Camp Ministry for many years.
  • Rebekah Lassiter

    • Rebekah graduated from Appalachian State University with a BA in K-6 Education. She taught 4th grade in the NC public school system for 4 years, specifically Science and NC Social Studies. She has begun a new phase of life as a mom to her son Hosea and as a missionary to international students at Duke University with International Students Inc. As a former camper, CIT, kitchen girl, and counselor at New Life Camp she is excited to add another NLC position to her list and spend time with children!
  • Linda Lupien

    • Linda earned her BS in Special Education from James Madison University and taught for Wake County public schools in grades K-8 for 32 years. She earned a masters in School Administration from NCSU in 2012. She enjoys incorporating Biblical Truth and having devotions in her lessons at New Life Camp.
  • Amy Martin

    • Amy is an experienced Physical Education Specialist with years of classroom experience in public, private, and homeschool settings. Amy’s PE classes teach children to develop basic motor skills, movement patterns for sports, and a healthy life style while incorporating biblical truths and verses through the PE lessons. She attended Campbell University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Elementary Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Education for children with special needs.
  • Hannah Martin

    • Hannah Martin graduated from Meredith College with a BS in Child Development and a Birth-Kindergarten teaching license. She taught Pre-K Special Education in Wake Country for three years. She currently works part-time as a developmental therapist in early intervention. After attending and working at NLC day camp for many years, Hannah is excited to be back at camp sharing the love of Jesus with young children!
  • Angie Moore

    • Angie started taking dance classes at the age of 3.  She truly gave her talent to Jesus in college and the Lord blessed her with many opportunities.  She was a member of the N.C. State University Modern Dance Company for four years. She enjoyed dancing at the John F. Kennedy Center twice with the company and choreographing her own work that reflected Christ.  After college, the Lord led her to teach all forms of dance at a Christian dance studio where her students through the years ranged from ages 3-75.  While at the studio, she enjoyed performing and choreographing for Rejoice Dance Company.  For many years, she taught dance at Camp Willow Run’s Mother/daughter retreat.  She also teaches dance at her church for their summer camp.  She loves to encourage her students to know they are loved by Christ and to give their talents to Jesus.
  • Danny Myers

    • Danny is from Raleigh and grew up loving the outdoors. He went to NLC for years both as a camper and CIT. He got his Eagle Scout Achievement in high school and then went to NC State where he studied Outdoor Leadership. Currently. he is studying at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is the president of the Southeastern Outdoors Club. Danny has his Wilderness First Responder and CPR certifications and has been leading backpacking, hiking, and climbing trips since 2013. He currently works for a company called MTS TO SEA organizing and guiding trips.

    • Trisha Price has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  She is a self-taught artist who has been teaching for the past 13 years using a variety of medium from pencil and charcoal to watercolor and acrylics.
  • Hannah Taylor
    • Teaches: Fun at HandTae Kwon Do Self Defense

    • Hannah is a college student at The College at Southeastern. She hopes to be a missionary after graduating from college. She has studied Tae Kwon Do for 11 years and enjoys learning and teaching martial arts. She loves learning about new cultures and languages and likes to meet new people.
  • Reaghan Waites

    • Reaghan started dancing at the age of 3, and has enjoyed learning ballet as a form of worship for 15 years. She is certified up to grade 5 in the Cecchetti ballet method, a classical training syllabus for dance students. Over the years, she has been given the opportunity to dance with Carolina ballet both in a performance and in their summer program, as well as attend and perform at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts dance festival for the past 5 years. She has had the privilege of dancing in City Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker for the past 8 years, where she has also been an assistant ballet teacher for 3 years. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for worship through dance with young girls!
  • Jane Woodward

    • Jane, a retired teacher and now grandmother, has a BS in Elementary education and a master’s degree in teaching children with learning disabilities. Jane taught in DeKalb County in Atlanta, Georgia, and in the Wake County school system. She has been Children’s Director at Providence Baptist Church and now enjoys leading bible studies at Sunrise Retirement home. Jane has been a faithful bible teacher for summer camp in the past years, and now looks forward in teaching home school children about God’s creation through the class, “Cool Lessons from Animals”. Jane especially loves having her grandchildren in the Clubs program.
