- This activity introduces speech and debate techniques. Students will learn how to compose and deliver various types of speeches, such as persuasive, oratory with visual aids, impromptu, extemporaneous, dramatic and humorous interpretation of literature. This activity will cover key elements of debate, such as listening skills, note taking, research, refutation, and logic. Lincoln-Douglas debate will be studied and practiced using current and/or past debate resolutions of the National Christian Forensics & Communications Association. Access to a library will be needed several times during the year. Attendance is very important, as this is a performance class.
